HISTORY and INFORMATION
Crystal Barn boasts a heritage older than its county and township, a lineage which dates back to Western New York pioneers who saw the area's vast possibilities from farming and a great potential for milling in the Genesee and it's tributaries.
Crystal Barn's setting is what once was and remains, in an area proud of it's history, John Lusk country. John Lusk had a special distinction among hardy men who came to settle the region after the War of Independence. Unlike most of the others, he moved his whole family with him into the area from Berkshire, Mass. He settled on 1534 acres he bought from Phelps and Gorham, the great regional land holders. John Lusk and his contemporaries had to clear most of the land and forest and eject bears and wolves
to make it tillable and livable. Echoes of pioneer history remain almost audible in this structure. The proud proprietors of the Crystal Barn invite you to share them.
